MASERU, Aug 28 — The High Court of Lesotho through Justice Fumane Khabo has today denied bail of Doctor Ts’epo Lipholo Baotho Covenant Movement (BCM) leader who was accused of misusing his position to confuse and divide Basotho nation, to violate the dignity and reputation of the royal family or his Majesty.
In delivering judgement, Justice Khabo said the accused spends most of his time in the Republic of South Africa and that even on the day of the arrest he was from South Africa and apart from that day there was a frequent movement between Lesotho and South Africa.
Justice Khabo said the accused has two diplomatic passports and the court takes judicial notice of the fact that the two passports may be used interchangeably.
She said it is the crown case that the petitioner’s frequent movement outside the country is an indication that if released, he is likely to abscond. . . .
