LLWDSP III TO ESTABLISH ORCHARDS FOR SCHOOLS

Botha-Bothe, Aug. 12 — A total of four schools in Botha-Bothe and Leribe districts will benefit from the Lesotho Lowlands Water Development and Sanitation Project III (LLWDSP III), which will establish orchards as part of its broader initiative to support local communities.

In an interview, Agency Community Liaison Officer Mr. Makotoko Maama stated that the project aims to restore and enhance people’s livelihoods in the areas where the project will be constructed.

“The project also plans to plant environmentally friendly trees in various locations to prevent soil erosion and improve the land’s ability to retain underground water,” Maama explained.

He added, “Currently, the project is assessing and registering all assets expected to be affected by the construction. After this, a consultant will take over, and an application for the Selected Development Application can be submitted.”
