Maseru, Aug. 11 — Wearing colours of different political parties, Basotho have gathered to celebrate the life of a political veteran, Mr. Molobeli Soulo. The funeral is held at Liraoeleng, Lithoteng.
With dominating colors, Black, Green and Red, the Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) followers are singing LCD songs with passion holding LCD flags and sticks, demonstrating how they used to do with the deceased.
The villagers, government representatives, former Deputy Prime Ministers, former Ministers, former Parliamentarians, also have gathered in large numbers to celebrate the deceased live.
Besides performances by the Political veterans, Lesotho Defense Force (LDF) played hymns in a very touching manner that let to some of the family members crying none stop, especially his wife, Mrs. ‘Masephetho Nkonyane.
In an interview with the few, Mrs. Nkalimeng said it is sad to be here today to witness the occasion where one of their active member in LCD is laid to rest.
She said Mr. Soulo was nothing but their pillar of strength in politics. She said LCD could not have survived this long if it was not because of Mr. Soulo.
Another one from All Basotho Convention (ABC) Mr. Lireko Thinyane shared the same feeling that the presence of Mr. Soulo in ABC made a positive impact.
He said he worked hard towards stock theft, rapes and killings which he managed to curb.
Mr. Soulo joined politics in 1970 under the Basotho Congress Party (BCP), he went to LCD in 1997. Later in 2012, he joined ABC, but did not stay long as he went back to LCD in 2014.
