MEDIA OUTLETS URGED TO AVOID DISABILITY BARRIERS

Maseru, Feb. 12 –  The Principal Rehabilitation Officer in the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development appealed to various media outlets to avoid contributing to barriers fuelling disability.

Ms. Palesa  Mofubelu said this when talking to disability issues at a two-day media training held in Maseru on Wednesday.

According to the Principal Rehabilitation Officer, some form of communication does hinder development. For instance, narratives appearing in some media outlets fuels disability as those with visual impairment including speech and hearing would be unable to access the message.
