Qacha’s Nek, June12 — The Southern Mountains Association for Rural Transformation and Development (SMARTD) team launched a four-day training aimed at producing stakeholders capable of managing natural resources sustainably in Qacha’s Nek, Ha Sekake on Monday.

The ongoing training involves grazing associations, herders and community leaders from Mohale’s Hoek, Quthing and Maseru districts.

Amidst the discussions were the Chieftainship Act of 1968, Local Government Service Act 2008, Environment Act 2008 and Children’s Protection and Welfare Act 2011.

Speaking to the Agency on Wednesday, Mr. Fako Fako, SMARTD Program Manager said the training follows a big challenge of stakeholders that do not know their job regarding environmental issues which result in unsustainable projects.
