MICSTI TEMPORARY WORKERS’ FUTURE HANGING

Maseru, Mar.15—March 14, marked a year since the contracts of 74 temporary workers in the Ministry of Information, Communication, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI) were terminated and there is still nothing clear on the matter.

The temporary workers were engaged at the Lesotho National Broadcasting Service (LNBS) and other ministry’s departments. They were on three year contracts which were supposed to expire in June 2024 but their contracts were terminated effective immediately on March 14, 2023.

However, they were given a temporary appointment of one and half months with effect from March 14 to April 30, 2023. Since then they have been engaged on three months renewable / extended contracts…
