Mafeteng, July 09 — The Principal Chief of Ts’akholo, Tebang and Ha Seleso has commended the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development for the mobile payment option as a means of distributing grants to beneficiaries.
He said this in an interview with the Agency on Monday after the Ministry’s officials announced at Metsi – Maholo Council E01 pay-point that the next session of payment will be done through mobile phones (Mpesa and Eco Cash).
According to Principal Chief Sentle Mojela, while a number of successes are attached to this mode of payment hence the Ministry should be commended but this method also poses a number of challenges for the people under his leadership.
For instance, the Principal Chief who is also a Senator indicated that these mobile payments pose threats to the aged who will only be able to access their grants through assistance of their grandchildren.
