Maseru, May, 16 — Road Fund Lesotho recently joined other African nations at the African Roads Maintenance Funds Association (ARMFA) General Annual Assembly, hosted by Road Fund in Abidjan, Cote D’lvoire from May 13 to 16.
According to Mrs. Phumla Moleko, head of corporate communications stated that Road Fund Lesotho delegation is led by the Chief Executive Officer, also the Chairperson of the ARMFA Southern Africa Focal Group (ASAFG) Mr. Nkekeletse Makara, accompanied by three senior officials of the road fund.
She stated that as the need for innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by the road sector becomes increasingly apparent, this event provided a platform for key stakeholders to exchange knowledge, experiences and ideas for securing the future of Africa’s transport networks.
“The Annual General Assembly (AGA) is convened under the theme Towards sustainable financing of Road Funds, for better maintenance of the African road network.
“The theme is aimed at challenging Road Funds to discuss future strategies for increasing domestic financing of well-maintained and safer road networks for the African people,” she said.
