Maseru, March 11 — All roads lead to Thaba – Bosiu, where in one accord the nation will be commemorating the late Morena Moshoeshoe l.
Learners, men and women of different age groups, some dressed in their Seshoeshoe attires and blankets have started arriving.
Values and principles of the late father will be remembered through a number of cultural activities ranging from Mokhibo, Mohobelo and other festivities.
The climax of today’s commemoration will be unveiling of 60 years diamond logo prior independence (October 4).
Speaking with Basotho from different walks upon arrival, Mrs. ‘Matankiso Ralekaota of Khorong, Ha Nchela Thaba – Bosiu said the commemoration reminds the nation the importance of Basotho and their roots in alignment with values and principles of the late father.
In the same note, Mabilikoe Mphafi aged 11 of Tlametlu LECSA Primary School Ha ‘Mants’ebo stated that he is excited to be part of this commemoration.
He mentioned that he remembers Morena Moshoeshoe as the father who showed Basotho that initiation is part of Basotho culture.
“He was born in at Menkhoaneng in 1786, initiated in 1804, married to Nkhono Mabela later on and died in 1870.” He affirmed.
Activities of the day commences with laying of wreaths on top of Thaba – Bosiu mountain with others to follow later on.
