Qacha’sNek, Aug. 29 — As the summer cropping season continues, Mr. Sejanamane Phatela, a community volunteer with World Vision International Lesotho (WVIL) urges commercial farmers to secure a market before planting.
“Don’t plant a lot of something you don’t know what to do with,” he said. “Start by finding a market so that when you plant, you already know where your produce is going.”
Mr. Phatela explained that WVIL runs a program focused on empowering women, children, and youth through agriculture.
“A key part of this empowerment is teaching market-driven farming practices that help prevent post-harvest losses,” he said.
