SEKOKOTOANA CONTINUES TO TESTIFY

Maseru, Sept. 12 — Correctional Officer Tumelo Sekokotoana says he is implicated by most inmates before the Commission because he is perceived to be strict.

This, he said when testifying before the Commission of Inquiry on the escape of inmates, on the search exercise that was conducted at Maseru Central Correctional Institution (MCCI) on December 22, 2023 which resulted in the assault of inmates, leaving Tlotliso Bereng paralysed.

Officer Sekokotoana, who stands to be alleged to have assaulted a number of inmates said he did his job effectively while at MCCI before he could go for a recruitment course and he was aware that some inmates did not like him.

He added that some inmates implicated him because they thought he would reveal the names of recruits who assaulted them.
