SENTEBALE FOUNDATION IN FIGHT AGAINST HIV, TB

Maseru, Nov. 26 — In the fight against new infections of HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis (TB), Sentebale Foundation has introduced and implemented numerous projects that aims to strengthen the health, social and emotional wellbeing of the most vulnerable children living with and at risk of HIV. 

The projects are Youth Hub programme in partnership with the Ministry of Finance, Socio-Economic Strengthening project, Health and Wellbeing, and Education and Livelihoods. 

In an interview with Mr. Seeisa Tsíame, these projects are designed for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) aged between 15 to 24 years, and its focus is HIV/TB prevention among AGYW and their male partners starting April 2022 until March 2024. 

He mentioned that on they are mainly dealing with issues of Social and behaviour Change Communication (SBCC), community mobilisation and parental engagement, condoms education, promotion and distribution, socio economic strengthening, and referrals and linkages to HIV Self-Testing kits (HTS), Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), antiretroviral treatment (ART), and other Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) prevention, as well as post violence care services as non-health services that AGYW may require. . .
