Mokhotlong, April 25 — SolidarMed has launched a three year project called Early Childhood Development (ECD) in the district on Thursday.
The Project Manager, Mr. Masheane Nkopane from SolidarMed said the project will be implemented in hard to reach places of Mokhotlong and Botha Bothe districts adding that its main objective is to empower Lesotho youngest generation through a holistic ECD intervention to ensure a strong foundation for a lifelong learning, growth and wellbeing.
He said the project also intends to strengthen access and quality of essential ECD health services for caregivers, newborns and children under the age of five at health facilities.
Mr. Nkopane will also ensure improved knowledge and practice of health and nutrition for caregivers and children through participatory community based ECD interventions while integration with the District Health Management Team and support for quality data management and knowledge dissemination will also be enhanced.
