ST. MARY’S TO HOLD CULTURE DAY

Leribe, Mar. 06 — With the purpose of celebrating Moshoeshoe’s Day, St. Mary’s School of Economics will on March 10 celebrate culture at its premises in Hlotse, Leribe.

Moshoeshoe’s Day is celebrated annually on March 11.

Talking to the Agency, the principal of the school Mrs. ‘Malinkeng Machema said the purpose of the event is to instil love for culture amongst pupils.

She indicated that this also explains the importance of Moshoeshoe’s day in remembrance of the late King Moshoeshoe I.

Mrs. Machema said they are to celebrate the day by cooking cultural food and playing traditional dances and games.

“In so doing, those who do not know also learn cooking and playing the games,” she stated.

The principal highlighted that they will be joined by other economics schools from other districts in celebrating the day, the school celebrates the day annually.

St. Mary’s School of Economics offers home economics subjects such as agriculture, fashion and Fabrics and cooking with the purpose of urging the pupils to start their own businesses and overcome the unemployment rate in the country.
