Maseru, Jan. 23—When the world is applauding the Gaza and Israel ceasefire deal, World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations (UN) partners are ready to scale up emergency response.
WHO says together with the UN health partners including United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and 67 Health Cluster partners are ready to step in with emergency relief services for displaced and injured people.
The organisation has assured that efforts are underway to strengthen referral processes for critical care within Gaza and facilitate cross-border medical evacuations and given the high level of malnutrition and disease outbreaks, it is working with partners to expand infant and young child feeding programmes, enhance immunization efforts and reinforce disease surveillance systems for timely prevention, reporting, and outbreak management…
