LESOTHO DOES NOT NEED THE ARMY- MOOROSI

Maseru, Oct. 03—Dr. Moorosi Leshoele from the Centre for Gender and Africa Studies of the University of Free State (UFS), says Lesotho’s problems emanate from the political history of military induced conflicts, and the army must be dissolved.

He said this during a Lesotho Bicentenary conference at the National University of Lesotho (NUL) on Wednesday.

Dr. Leshoele said Lesotho’s main problem is the politicised military, either initiating coups or assisting political parties in toppling governments and the instability has huge economic and developmental implications for the country…
