Maseru, Dec. 05 — Academic Forum for Development of Lesotho (AFDeL), an association of the National University of Lesotho (NUL) academics and professionals in and outside Lesotho is adamantly opposing the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) Commander Lieutenant General Mojalefa Letsoela delivering a lecture on matters of Leadership to the NUL community on Thursday this week (December 07).
The lecture is an invitation by the Vice Chancellor to the LDF Commander as an expert on matters of Leadership. AFDeL requests that the invitation be cancelled forthwith.
According to the AFDeL President Professor Makoala Marake, they are opposed to the said arrangement as it makes mockery of the espoused NUL vision about good leadership and legitimises undemocratic conduct by a figure that is given the constitutional right to defend and uphold the rule of law and constitutional order.
