ACCUSED HAVE CASE TO ANSWER-COURT

Maseru, Mar.31— The High Court through Chief Justice Sakoane Sakoane has on Monday ruled that Corporal Tjekane Sebolai and Private Selone Ratsiu who are charged with murder, attempted murder and malicious damage to property have a case to answer.

The ruling was made following an application for discharge by the accused who through their lawyer Advocate Sello Ts’abeha , argued that there is a gap in the evidence presented by the prosecution as a fragment of a bullet found on the body of the deceased was not sent for ballistic testing. 

They added that a ballistic report showed that bullets collected from the crime scene did not match rifles presented for examination. They further added that a report by an external ballistics expert which is conclusive on the mismatch was not presented before court…
