AGRIC TO EXHIBIT FOODS

Leribe, Apr. 11 (LENA) –Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security under Nutrition and Home Economics Section will on Friday this week exhibit agriculture products at Resilient Livelihoods Exhibition to be held at Khabo Resource Centre in Leribe.

The exhibition is supported by World Vision Lesotho.

Speaking in an interview with the agency on Tuesday District Home Economics Officer Leribe Mrs. Rethabile Motake said they are going to exhibit foods for children, patients and stored foods.

She explained that the section encourages dietary diversity and in this regard foods for children include many foods (balanced meal), those with and without sugar and limited oil for patients and baked foods for income generating. 

In addition, she said they will also showcase products made of wool and grass.

Motake said they will also visit two to three households to see vegetable production and identify if food diversification is adhered to.

She said the foods will be displayed by nutrition club members who have been lectured into producing and storing the foods.

Expected at the event are District Administrator, District Agriculture Officer, World Vision Lesotho representatives and the nutrition clubs.
