ARCHBISHOP LEROTHOLI CONSECRATES ST. LAWRENCE MISSION

Thaba Tseka, March 15 — The  Roman Catholic Church (RCC) Archbishop Tlali Lerotholi OMI led a mass service marking the launch and opening of St. Lawrence  Roman Catholic Mission (RCM) in Mants’onyane on Sunday.

The mission has been duly rebuilt for the community by the Prime Minister, Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane as part of celebrating his 68th birthday.

The service saw King Letsie Ill attend, Queen and Cabinet Ministers, guests  from different walks including Basotho from different denominations and spheres.

Upon the Archbishop’s Solemn Procession in the church, he blessed water, sprinkled on the congregation and on the altar while also consecrating  the church.

Addressing congregants in relation to today’s readings extracted from Nehemia, Corinthians and John respectively, Archbishop Lerotholi urged the nation to first seek God so that all these other things will be added.

He appreciated the gesture, indicating that this newly rebuilt building will go a long way in promoting faith for the people of God.

In the same note, Father Paul Moshe mentioned that all represent the  Church of Christ on earth, thus all are worthy to receive God’s blessing.

The mass also saw other RCC Bishops from different regions in the country, RCC members as well as other Christians from different churches.

Congregants sang catholic hymns, glorified God as the giver of all while  sign language interpreters were also doing their work to accommodate the deaf as the service was being broadcast live on state media and other social media platforms.

St. Lawrence  is a mission under  Auray Parish which started as a mission in the late 1930’s. RCC Parishes in this district also include Thaba- Tseka, Paray, Marakabei and Lesobeng.
