ECONET EXTENDS A HELPING HAND TO MOET

Maseru, Aug. 13 – The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET)has received a cheque worth over M1.2 million from Econet Lesotho through its Higher Life Foundation project in an event that took place in Maseru on Wednesday.

Explaining the purpose of the event, the Principal Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Rats’iu Majara, noted that since the implementation of United States of America residential orders, some projects in Lesotho have experienced funding withdrawals and among the affected initiatives is Mothers-2-Mothers, which had been supporting certain high school learners.

In his acceptance remarks, the Minister of Education and Training, Professor Ntoi Rapapa, commended Econet Lesotho for its continued contributions to the country’s education sector.

He emphasized that such initiatives help restore hope for vulnerable and marginalized children, enabling them to pursue their studies.

While handing over the cheque, Econet Lesotho Chief Executive Officer Mr. Dennis Plaatjies said the company annually allocates part of its revenues to support Basotho in areas including health, education and entrepreneurship. . .
