A’SKOP VDMT REVIVED AS PART IACOV PROJECT COMPONENT                                                       

Quthing, June 10 — As part of Improving adaptive capacity of vulnerable and food insecure populations in Lesotho (IACOV) project activities, different groups of Alwyyn’skop community gathered on Monday to revive their Village Disaster Management Team (VDMT) at the village pitso ground on Monday.

The team has been revived in preparation for training as to implement IACOV project component three (3) that entails strengthening resilience at community level through community based concrete adaptation and resilience measures for improved food systems.

Speaking at the same event, the District Forester from Department of Environment, Forestry, Range, Water and Soil Conservation Mr. Kananelo Thamae expressed the need for the community members to join hands and prevent acts of burning pastures and deforestation as they contribute to the effects of climate change. . .
