Maseru, Aug. 04 — The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) and Selemo Association have commemorated the beginning of Basotho New Year dubbed ‘Moea oa Selemo sa Basotho’ which is commemorated in August. The event took place in Maseru on Friday.
During his speech, the Minister of Gender, Youth, Sports, Arts, Culture and Social Development Mr. Pitso Lesaoana indicated that commemorating the beginning of the Basotho New Year is very crucial as it seeks to bring back cultural norms of the Basotho nation.
He stated that in August, this is the time when nature takes its course and changes the environment, trees create brightly coloured and sweet-smelling blossoms to attract pollinating insects and bees to their fresh pollen and nectar. . .
