KING LETSIE III CALLS FOR PEACE, STABILITY 

Berea, July 16 — King Letsie III has strongly urged Lioli, Maroala and Mats’ekha to unite and strive for peace in families and the entire nation.

King Letsie III uttered this on Wednesday words at Bela-Bela where the Basotho nation was gathered solidarity to commemorate his birthday.

He said much as it is the prayers and thanks giving day, however mentioned that they cannot ignore that there are social issues which need to be addressed such as high crime rate countrywide.

His Majesty emphasized the need for the people to regularly engage in prayers so that peace can prevail in the country.

He further said the most impressing issue is that they are celebrating together with children and the youths being the future leaders of the country, therefore encouraged the people to include them in their prayers so that their hope for the bright future be revived.

King Letsie III also suggested that such children should be given means of sustaining their lives for transformation of their country.

Also speaking, Principal Chief of Koeneng and Mapoteng, Chief Peete Lesaoana Peete urged Basotho to consider King’s birthday as the time to reflect on their lives and adopt the strategies of the Basotho nation founder and the pioneer of peace.

Chief Peete also enlightened Lioli, Maroala and Mats’ekha that King Letsie III is the African Nutrition Champion, therefore he urged them to embark of crops production, citing that they should ensure that no fields remain fallow and gardens should have vegetables. . . . .
