OBR TO CELEBRATE AFRICAN WOMEN’S MONTH

Maseru, Aug, 05 — While August is widely recognized as women’s month in South Africa, Lesotho is joining in solidarity to honor the legacy of the women in August and celebrate the achievements of its own.

In a conversation with the Agency, Mrs. Winile Sakoane, One Billion Rising (OBR) coordinator mentioned that the local campaign in collaboration with Maleah Foundation has decided to highlight and honor five (5) instrumental women who have significantly supported their work.

“These women will be profiled on August 9 and have been vital in addressing the issues affecting women in Lesotho, paving the way for progress and empowerment,” she said.

She indicated that August is not officially woman’s month in Lesotho, but it is an opportunity to stand in solidarity with South African sisters and reflect on the strides we have made in our country.
