Botha-Bothe, Aug. 27 — The Ministry of Trade and Business Development today brought its business registration campaign to Botha-Bothe, targeting producers and innovators in various sectors so they can be included in the Ministry’s official database.
Speaking in an interview, the Department of Small Businesses and Cooperatives Information Officer, Ms. Nyakallo Nts’inyi, said the initiative is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Ms. Nts’inyi explained that the campaign aims to create a comprehensive database of businesses involved in producing goods and services such as food, clothing, and other products.

“This is one of the lessons we learned after the COVID-19 pandemic, when the government realized it had no proper database of businesses to assist during crises. With this database, we will be able to avoid such challenges in the future,” Ms. Nts’inyi said.
She further noted that the database will also help the government understand the types of businesses operating in Lesotho, enabling it to seek relevant markets and address common challenges such as limited finances and lack of business management skills. . . . .
