CASE CHALLENGING MOTION POSTPONED

Maseru, Nov.17– A case in which a Member of Parliament for Thaba Moea Constituency No. 73, Mr. Lejone Puseletso is challenging a proposed motion of no confidence in the Government of Lesotho was on Friday postponed to December 06 and 07 2023 for hearing.

The postponement was in order to allow for translation and filing of Hansards from Parliament on the 9th amendment to the Constitution. It was also to allow the applicants and the respondents in the matter to supplement  their submissions following the availability of the Hansards.

This was after it was revealed that the applicant has obtained a Hansard dated  March 12 2020 and wished to avail it to the court  while the respondents have one dated October 22 2019.

After lengthy arguments on which route to take in order to ensure that the case is properly proceeded with, it was concluded that the court be given time to study the documents and familiarise themselves with their contents before they could hear arguments. It was emphasised that it is essential for the court to be well equipped before entertaining the matter.
