SENTENCING OF RITUAL MURDER CONVICT POSTPONED

Maseru, Aug.07–The High Court has on Wednesday postponed to September 23 2024, sentencing of Mphatsoe Ntjelo of Quthing who has been found guilty of killing his three children and his younger brother in 2014 and 2015.

A judge presiding over this case, Justice Molefi Makara stated that there were logistical challenges for the completion of a social inquiry report. He pointed out that the court and parties involved in the case found it wise and prudent that experts in the social sciences especially those deployed in the Ministry of Social Development help with assessment of the convicted accused and assist the court to get his personality.

He indicated that although there has been lapse in the communication, everything has been placed in order.

The judge remarked that the nature of the case has attracted attention. He said that some lawyers who have asked to be part of the case, who are termed ”Friends of the Court” are still preparing their papers…
