Maseru, Jan.29 — Children who are participating in a two-day national dialogue on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and urban preparedness and response have urged the government to incorporate DRR in schools curriculum.
They said that incorporation of DRR in schools’ curriculum will help them to grow up educated and familiar with disaster issues while at the same time enhancing their preparedness.
They further said there is need for children to have access to early warning systems to be informed about disaster risk reduction issues for preparedness.

The youth also said that they should be involved in DRR assessment and decision making at their respective communities because disasters can affect everyone, adults and children with and without disabilities. . .
