Botha-Bothe, Nov. 03 — Ahead of the launch of the Paramente–Ha Lebetla (Seboche) road construction project, the Roads Directorate and China Geo Engineering Corporation held a meeting with Likila Council community leaders to discuss working arrangements and ensure smooth collaboration during the construction period.
Speaking at the meeting, the Roads Directorate’s Senior Human Resource Officer, Mr. Rakhoarai Molantoa, said both skilled and unskilled labourers will be hired for the project.
Mr. Moloantoa noted that while skilled workers already understand the application procedures, the recruitment of unskilled labour will involve coordination between councillors, chiefs, and the Ministry to ensure transparency and fairness.

“This time we are engaging Likila Council because the road construction will take place within its jurisdiction. It is important that unskilled labour opportunities benefit people residing within the council area,” Mr. Molantoa said. “We want to ensure that both the Ministry and community leaders understand the proper procedures so the project runs smoothly.”
He announced that registration for unskilled labourers will take place on November 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2025, for individuals aged 18 to 60 years. He added that 30 percent of the jobs will be reserved for women, while 50 percent will go to the youth in line with government efforts to reduce unemployment.

Mr. Molantoa further emphasized that unskilled workers will be paid according to the 2024 Labour Wage Gazette. He urged community leaders to guide their communities to behave responsibly throughout the construction period, noting that good conduct will ensure lasting benefits from the road. . .
