Mokhotlong, Nov.03 — Members of the District Disaster Management Team (DDMT) were presented with the 2025/2026 Seasonal Outlook at a one-day meeting held in the district on Monday.
Organised by Disaster Management Authority (DMA) in collaboration with Lesotho Meteorology Service (LMS) and World Food Programme (WFP), the objective of the meeting was to disseminate the seasonal outlook and early warning messages to the team to enhance protection.
One of the team members who participated in the meeting Mr. Mohlalefi Khusu said the meeting served as a refresher to them as it reminded them about their role to educate the public about disaster risk reduction to strengthen prevention and protection on climate disasters.
He said the team also developed early warning messages to increase community protection against the anticipated normal to above normal rainfall and heat during the summer season.
