Mohale’s Hoek, Aug. 20 — The District Council is pleased with the progress of ongoing rehabilitation works on the Ha-Lesala and Ha-Matekane gravel roads in Qhoasing Community Council.
District Council Principal Technical Officer, Mr. Molefi Moronti, said in an interview with the Agency that the project also passes through Ha-Lesala and Ha-Mothibi, where construction of a bridge is at an advanced stage.
He said the bulldozer would continue working from Tlaling, Ha-Ralekone and Nkeeane to Ha-Setulo, adding that more than 10 villages were benefiting from the project.

Mr. Moronti said about 60 community members had been employed through the project, which would enable residents to travel more easily from their villages to Mohale’s Hoek town to run errands.
He said the projects are expected to be completed during the current financial year.
Meanwhile, Lithipeng Community Council Secretary, Mr. Thabang Khutlane, said about 25 villages would benefit from road rehabilitation works expected to commence next week.
Chairperson of Ketane and Kori Route, Mr. Tlali Kala, expressed appreciation for the progress but raised concern about one contractor who was moving at a slow pace.
He said transport operators planned to engage the Council on the possibility of including Riverside Road in the rehabilitation programme, as it was also in poor condition.
