COURT DENIES HERDBOY OF POLICE HORSES BAIL

Mohale’s Hoek, Feb.27–The  Magistrate Court  has on Tuesday denied bail to a 47 year old man from Liphiring Majakaneng, who is employed as a herd boy for Police horses as he is not the first time offender.

Evidence before court indicates that  on February, 20, Chabeli Ramositli and his co-accused Likhang Molise aged 40, were found in possession of 3 sheep at Sekoting, Mabalane, without any satisfactory account of such possession.

Prosecution objected to Ramositli’s bail application noting the latter was convicted and fined M1000.00 or 1 year imprisonment, (CR 258/ 2017) after being found guilty of being in possession of 6 lambs, but half of the fine was suspended for a year.

Ramositli whom the Agency learned from a reliable source that the sheep found in his possession belonged to a farmer in RSA and were hidden in one house wrapped in blankets, is charged with contravening Section 13 of Stock Theft Act No:4 of 2000, as amended by Section 13 (b) (3) d of Stock Theft Amendment Act No:5 of 2003, read with Section thereof.

The case is before Magistrate Selebeleng Selebeleng, with Sehloho Mathe for Crown Counsel, and both accused persons are expected to be back in court on March, 06 with their lawyers.
