Maseru, Aug. 26—Democratic Congress (DC) youth league has elected a new committee which will
be chaired by Mr. Pheello Sehlabaka.
The very controversial elections which bore a lot of arguments before their commencement, were
held at Moshoeshoe II High School in Matsieng during the weekend.
Although the source of the argument was not disclosed to the media, it was evident from the speech
of the party leader, Mr. Mathibeli Mokhothu that all was not well.
Amongst other things, Mokhothu pleaded for unity, saying whatever was not sitting well with the
party youth must be resolved peacefully.
He was addressing the youth ahead of the elections when the tension levels escalated.
At the end the preliminary results stood at Lebohang Ntsau being the Deputy Chairperson, Pontso
Ntjelo and Lineo Rammeleke being the Secretary and Deputy Secretary respectively while Mats’iu
Nyakane was elected Treasurer.
Nthethe Mokotjo was elected Conference Chairperson and Sibongile Thobothobo, Kalakhosi
Sechaba, Motlatsi Motopi and Mapaballo Nqhobo were elected first to fourth members respectively.
