DOCTOR TO CONTINUE WITH EVIDENCE

Maseru, Apr. 05 — Dr. Matsa Mosese from Pelenomi Hospital in South Africa who took the stand as a first defence witness in a case in which Qamo Matela is charged with the murder of his wife Mahlompho Matela born Rethabile Mofolo, is expected to continue with his evidence when the matter resumes.

The case has been scheduled to proceed from April 29 to May 03, 2024 and the prosecution is expected to continue with the cross-examination of the witness who is one of the doctors who treated the deceased before she died.

Dr. Mosese has in his evidence in chief disputed the evidence of a Pathologist Dr. Lefatle Phakoane which stated that the deceased died due to traumatic internal bleeding. He said the deceased died due to pulmonary embolism.

The defence is expected to lead evidence from another doctor, still from South Africa as the accused will not testify.
