Maseru, May 27 — a local prominent journalist, Mr. Nkheli Liphoto has been co-opted to the position of Director Operations and Finance, under the office of the general organiser.
This is in accordance with Article 15 (III) of the Parliamentary Press Regulatory Framework (APPN-Lesotho), the Secretary General Makhanya Manamathela, APPN Lesotho has said.
The Secretary General showed that the administration is confident that Mr. Liphoto’s expertise and professional experience will make a meaningful contribution to the strengthening of APPN-Lesotho’s operational efficiency, financial oversight and institutional mandate.
Over and above that, the administration also touched on Mr. Liphoto’s extensive experience in parliamentary reporting, now assigned to cover proceedings at both National Assembly and Senate will go a long way in uplifting APPN-Lesotho.
Additionally, Mr. Liphoto who is also former Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Lesotho Chapter, where he served as Treasurer, demonstrated competence in financial management, accountability and institutional governance.
The APPN is an Africa inclusive parliamentary media group that has been designed to monitor and offer improved visibility to the Pan-African Parliament and individual national Parliaments.
This group is made up of journalists, media personnel across the continent of Africa who cover the workings of parliaments, it was put together after a media session on working effectively with the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) organised under support of the Parliamentary Network Africa (PNAfrica), Mzalendo Trust, Centre for Human Rights (CHR) and the Pan African Parliament (PAP) to help the continental legislative body achieve its mandate.
