FARMERS URGED TO INCREASE FOOD PRODUCTION

Mokhotlong Nov. 13 — It is only when all people engage in agricultural activities such as crop farming that food production can increase for both subsistence and commercial purposes.

The District Agricultural Officer Mr. Bereng Leluma said this when speaking at the food systems meeting held at Thabang in the district on Wednesday.  The meeting preceded with a roadshow that began at Ntlholohetsane Lekhalong to Thabang to create public awareness of the food systems.

The Food Systems are the networks needed to produce and transform food and ensure it reaches consumers on time.

Mr. Leluma urged farmers to continue seeking advice from the Extension Officers deployed at different Agricultural Resource Centres in order to improve food production in the district.
