FLEET OPERATORS CRY FOUL OF GOVERNMENT

Maseru, Sept. 07– The Fleet Operators who rented out their motor vehicles to the Government cry foul of the delayed payments by the Ministry of Finance, this was revealed during their meeting with the Ministry and Public Accounts Committee on Thursday.

Tabling their concerns, one Mr. Lebohang Motaung said they got into contract with the Ministry of Finance in 2020 but since then, they only got paid not more than three times.

He said the sad part about this is that they got into loans to purchase the motor vehicles and the bank instalment together with arrears are killing them as they keep accumulating every month despite delay in their payments.

Mrs. Makhotso Molefe added that besides issues of the bank, they have to maintain their cars regardless of not receiving payments from the ministry.
