HEALTH MINISTRY NEEDS OVER 180 MILLION BOOST

Maseru, March 21 – The Ministry of Health needs over M180 million to fill the gaps brought by the United States (US) executive orders.

This, was said by the Minister of Health Mr. Selibe Mochoboroane in the National Assembly on Friday.

Mr. Mochoboroane said the government might have to adopt the human resource of at least 1347 who, including medical doctors, nurses, counsellors and data clerks, as HIV/AIDS programs, with the payment scale of the government, will affect them.

“If we do not retain our human resources, we will have a challenge,” he stressed.

He added that the testing commodities will also be affected as they were supported by the USAID and Centre for Disease Control (CDC) saying the Ministry will need at least M69 million to continue operations, in case CDC withdraws its support. . . .
