ISSUES SURROUNDING SUNJV WORKERS STRIKE DISCUSSED IN DEPTH

Mokhotlong Feb. 21– A meeting that was intended to get an insight into the SUN Joint Venture (JV) workers strike was convened at the Mokhotlong District Administrator’s Office premises on Wednesday.

SUN JV is one of the companies engaged by the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) to construct the Polihali dam in the district and some of its workers have since February 07 this year embarked on a lawful strike complaining about food, salaries and contracts.

The meeting that took almost seven hours long was called by Members of Parliament for Constituencies of which three MPs out of four were present in person. The meeting which was expected to take at least two hours started from 10:00 am and ended at around 4pm having experienced calm and heated emotions at the same time. . .
