LCS OFFICER FAILS TO SHOW UP BEFORE COMMISSION

Maseru, May 22 — Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) Chief Officer, Mokotla Thamae who is implicated in witness number eight testimony (Inmate ‘Ngoae Kotelo ) failed to show-up before the Commission on Wednesday.

When briefing the Commission on why Chief Officer Thamae did not show up, the Officer in Charge of Maseru Central Correctional Institution (MCCI) Assistant Commissioner Tsoto Manaka said the former received the message that he was to appear before the commission but did not receive the papers (summon).

He said he was informed on May 09 , saying before the issue of summons, he handed his retirement letter to his office, which he said was not correctly written.

“I called and told him he has to rewrite the retirement letter and also reminded him to collect his summon” he added, saying he was told he did arrive at the institution  and handed the corrected letter but left without taking the papers.
