LeFA SEARCHES FOR VENUE TO HOST WORLD CUP

Maseru, Sept 01 — The Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) troubles are continuing unabated as the Association is searching for an alternative home ground for Likuena to host 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Lesotho is among 26 CAF Members to host World Cup qualifiers outside their countries.

LeFA Media Officer, Mr. Mikia Kalati told the Agency on Friday that the Lesotho Senior National team, Likuena is among 26 of the 54 CAF Member Association’s national teams that have to play their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers outside their borders due to the failure by the government of Lesotho to upgrade Setsoto Stadium to meet international standards.

He said the country’s only national Stadium, Setsoto, was suspended by CAF in 2021 forcing the Lesotho Football Association to host its international matches in neighbouring South Africa.
