FRANCE HOLDS OLYMPIC GAMES OPENING IN OPEN AIR

Maseru, Jul. 27–Lesotho flag was amongst those held high, in floating boats at the Olympic games opening in France on Friday night.

This event was the first of its kind ever. France became the first country to hold the opening ceremony out of a stadium.

Lesotho’s three athletes, Tebello Ramakongoana, Michelle Tau and Mokulubete Makatsi are among the 10 500 who sailed in boats in Paris.

About 85 boats were floating along the Seine river towards the sparkling Eiffel Tower with the ascent of the Olympic flame into the sky on a cauldron attached to a hot air balloon during the ceremony…
