Maseru, Sept.05—-Thabiso Lekitla, a Member of Parliament who is standing trial for murder, has on Thursday, through one of his lawyers Advocate Motiea Teele (KC) told the court that he wants a judge presiding over his case, Justice Mabats’oeneng Hlaele to recuse herself.
As it is practice, the defence and prosecution met the presiding judge in chambers where the defence revealed their intention to apply for the recusal of the judge.
Following the discussions in chambers, the Court directed that the defence file a formal application for the recusal after which both parties should file and exchange all necessary papers including heads of arguments. It further ordered that the hearing of the application will be on Friday next week…
