Mseru, May 18 — After serving for a term estimated at about five years on the leadership basis for the Orange – Senqu River Commission (ORASECOM), Lesotho has handed over the reigns of leadership to the country of Botswana.
This comes after the appointment of the new chief accounting officer and Secretariat head, Executive Secretary (ES), Mr. Comfort Molosiwa, a national of the Republic of Botswana.
According to a media statement released by the ORASECOM Communications office, the outgoing Executive Secretary of the transboundary river basin organisation of four countries, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa, Orange – Senqu River Commission (ORASECOM) Mr. Lenka Thamae has actively worked in this leadership to ensure that the commission successfully advices the member states on the development, utilisation and conservation of water resources of the Senqu basin.
Mr. Molosiwa takes over as the first Botswana citizen to occupy this executive position after the inaugural ORASECOM Executive Secretary, Mr. Lenka Thamae from the Kingdom of Lesotho.
