LESOTHO TIMES NOT REGISTERED-FORMER COMPOL

Maseru, Sept. 12 — Former Commissioner of Police Mr. Holomo Molibeli through his lawyer Advocate Tekane Maqaqachane says the Lesotho Times Newspaper is not registered.

This was said when addressing the court following an application instituted by Mr. Molibeli against Africa Media Holdings (PTY) LTD, Letuka Mame and the Lesotho Times. This was after they published what he said is defamatory material and information about him.

In his papers he indicated that they refused to retract or apologise when demanded to do so. He pointed out that he took action because he feared for further violation of his reputation as well as to prevent the continued commission of crime which commenced in 2008 by the respondents. He added that he did that in upholding the rule of law.

He asked the court to declare as unlawful, null and void, the printing and publishing undertaken by the respondents through the Lesotho Times Newspaper.
