LHDA RESCUES STUCK PUPILS, TEACHERS FROM SNOWFALL

Maseru, Sept. 22 — The Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP) have rescued pupils and teachers from Senenake Primary School who were stuck in the snow at Selikane.

According to LHDA, the school was on a trip to visit Katse Dam when their bus got stuck in the snow, and the extreme cold weather.

The LHDA through its contractor Kopano ke matla, managed to reach out the bus, pupils and teachers were transported to nearby school at Ha Lejone, where they will receive food, heating, and essential medical assessment to ensure they are in good health.

On the same note, the Disaster Management Authority (DMA) Senior Reporter Mrs. Mahlape Koali has confirmed the news, adding that there were also pupils who took tours to Maseru from Thaba-Tseka and QachasNek who were stuck have also received assistance.

Both LHDA and DMA have made a plea to the public to stop taking long trips to the highlands as it is not safe at the moment.
