Botha-Bothe, Feb. 13 — The Lesotho Lowlands Water Development Project Phase III (LLWDP III) has engaged various heads of departments and ministries in discussions on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) as part of preparations for the project’s implementation in Botha-Bothe villages.
Speaking at the workshop, Mrs. Mantopi Lebofa of LOSAI Consultancy stated that the objective was to equip stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and skills on WASH to collectively achieve the goals of LLWDP III and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
She emphasized the importance of capacity-building in WASH techniques to promote a healthy environment both in communities and workplaces.
“WASH is the responsibility of each one of us to maintain a healthy living environment for ourselves and future generations. Our actions have consequences, and neglecting hygiene and sanitation can directly impact our health. Lesotho faces a high prevalence of waterborne diseases, which significantly affect the nation’s health and economy,” she said . . .
