MAHAO MURDER TRIAL TO CONTINUE

Maseru, Aug. 06 — A case in which some members of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) including Retired Army Commander Lieutenant General Tllali Kamoli charged with the murder of Maparankoe Mahao has been scheduled to continue on September 23 to 27, 2024.

The court has in this matter already heard evidence from 25 witnesses. Some of the witnesses to recently testify in the case have told the court about injuries observed on the body of the deceased.

Evidence has shown that the deceased died at the Makoanyane Military Hospital on June 25, 2015 after he sustained several gunshot wounds on his body. It has further been shown that the police attended to the deceased the following day and took his body to a mortuary after examining it.

The evidence has also stated that the deceased was travelling in a Nissan half truck when he was shot, adding that the same vehicle had holes, blood stains and broken glasses in it. It added that properties belonging to the deceased comprising two cell phones and a 9mm pistol were in 2017 handed over to the police by the army through the office of the Commander.
