MAHAO SUSPENDS MAQELEPO FROM BAP

Maseru, Dec. 10 — Basotho Action Party (BAP) Leader, Professor Nqosa Mahao has suspended his deputy, Mr. Motlatsi Maqelepo.

In his suspension letter, Mahao said given Maqelepo’s failure to adequately address the allegations and his apparent disregard for the authority of the Central Executive Committee (CEC)  and the Constitution of the party, he is left with no choice but to proceed with the proposed suspension with immediate effect to allow the disciplinary process to take its course without interference.

He discredited Maqelepo’s response to his show cause letter, stating that he is not denying the two allegations against him, that is his participation in writing a letter to the Prime Minister of Lesotho without authorization and in collaboration with parties hostile to the BAP.

The second allegation is Maqelepo’s organization or participation in a meeting of Berea District constituencies contrary to Circular No: 004/2024 and in defiance of a warning issued by the Secretary General. . .
